We just stayed at the El Cid Beach and it was AWEFUL! No Free Wifi, If you purchased Wifi in your room, it was for only 1 device..... and was 65 American for 5 days...... So no one else in our group could use it to communicate to loved ones. ......PLUG ins didn’t work, coffee pot broken, Toilet flushed like it was a tornado. Even though we were inclusive. We had to PAY for any water & coffee provided in the room. Which is stupid as you are allowed free water at any restaurant..... Also their washroom doors were terrible. We were not given face cloths after they cleaned the room. The drinks were so watered down. I counted 12 Tequila Sunrises and didn’t feel or taste alcohol in them. Ordered baileys and it curdled .... there is no cream in baileys... at least not in canada....The lunch buffet was full of wild birds shitting everywhere. The beach vendors stand right by the ropes and block your sun. They are relentless and wont quit bothering you. Our first room was on the 2nd floor and by the lobby, which was a horrendous mistake as the Over rated lobby bar didn’t close till 2 am and almost every customer walked drunk and fought in front of our door! The music of poor singers who butchered songs screeched uninvited into our room. My sister found a used condom by their door on the third floor. The bathroom tub had 2 sets of hot and cold water....... One for the Tub and one for the shower.... the shower didn’t have hot water. .... the shower curtain fell down....The bathroom door is so awkward to scoot around to get to the toilet. Which had major issues with flushing....You have to manipulate the leaver so it will stop. If you don’t the water splashes out of the toilet...NICE! We finally were able to move rooms after complaining every day for 4 days......... The blankets were so damp and cold it was hard to fall asleep. We came in early march and the weather was considered FRESH by the locals... Our next room was much quieter, but the lack of plug ins was still an issue. They tried to charge me for 4 bottles of water because I USED THE COFFEE POT! I brought my own Starbucks instant coffee and used bottled water from down stairs to make coffee every morning. I guess heating water in their kettle is a no no! Trying to get smaller bills from the front desk is a joke! We had to walk a ways down the street. The Money changers were asking why we didn’t go to our front desk and ask for change....He said all they have to do is go see him and get it. Because his business was Exchanging Currency, not breaking Pesos. The Time share people get the best seats to watch the shows and the inclusive get to eat by the outer edges. They go by wrist bands. So as soon as you show up they automatically put you at the back or edge of the room. Even if you arrive early to get a better seat. So since this was my first time, I was so thrilled to see the yummy desserts you could chose from. They looked so Yummy.........................Every ONE OF THEM TASTED LIKE NOTHING! They use gelatine like we use butter and cheese......so It all looks creamy and even smells a bit like a sweet dessert. Talk about deception! The chocolate cake or cheese cake looking thing had the texture of mouse crossed with flavourless fudge...if there is such a thing....So like I don’t eat sea food when it’s BLENDED like a blender and dumped on a tray like slop and basically thats what most of the retried beans, and seafood looked like a SLOP BAR!!!! I filled up on broccoli, papayas and if I could find it lean chicken.... Most of the food was ok, nothing I would get seconds for. The coffee that was provided IS THE CHEAPEST! Bitter gross coffee! I love Coffee and I couldn’t wait to get home and have some blonde roast coffee. I mean they grow coffee in Mexico... The airport Pissed me off the second I stepped off the plane.... One pylon was all that was used to tell passengers to go around it and not pass under the wing... I was yelled at for taking a short cut... Why not put a rope there !!!!!! I cant understand Spanish!!!! Then on the way back, after going through customers and security.... there is NO FOOD!!!!!!! Except a vender with a cart!!!!! Yet down stairs there are an abundance of places to eat... The thing is, the line ups are huge and a persons focus is on getting through ALL of the lineups and not miss your flight.... So if you are not going to provide food after security, then let flyers know they should get food ahead of time.... because the next time I get to eat is 7 hours later... When the last time you ate is a 7 am and the next time you can eat is 7 or 8 pm by the time we travel an hour from the airport home... you are not a happy camper.. I’m not sure if I will ever go again. At least not Mazatlán. All of the tours were garbage really! The shopping tour downtown is so lame! The bathrooms are on the 3rd floor of a sears type store and the amount of walking you do and yet cant really shop, because you have only 5 minutes. The vendors jump on you like flies... We were suppose to eat at 1 and ended up eating at 230... Which again if you eat at 7 am and have to wait 7 hours to eat again.....The Stone island tour, was ok and passable of a tour. The food was not that great. Too many flies on your dishes. The bathrooms were nasty! At the dock the bathroom was an enclosed room with no lights so when you shut the door ... total darkness, then once on the island,, the bathroom was dirty and sinks were outside ....

El Cid is a piece of Shit. I only stayed there 1 time as a request of my wife and we never never will stay again. I only stay at The Inn. Since i was a child my father took us there and ever since....I really recomend it. they even let you buy beer and driks outside. You have a friedge at the room and if you want, they can offer you all inclusive stay. The papagayo restaurant is one of the best in mazatlan.
