Eilat reminds me of how Vegas looks at daytime. But Vegas is much more interesting.... Eilat, for Israelis, used to be "big" in the 90's and earlier, this is not the case today since israelis want the pricer sea side hotels- however at the price of going to Eilat+ hotel, it's better to take a vacation in Europe.

Eilat is the most southern city in israel. But this city is very very expensive for the israelis pepole and really the city is empty and boring during the day. just a beches with "holigans" israelis and teenagers drunks. really ? the israelis prefer the countries over the sea because the prices and the stmosphere there! You have really good videos and i like them

As someone who was born and raised in eilat January is the worst time for a visit, yes summer time can be really hot but April May /September October is an amazing time to visit! You went across the north beach line which is very commercial and luxury, South Beach line is way more beautiful and holds a lots of reefs and stunning sites and views. In one thing you were right, eilat is so damn expensive.

Would you have traveled to Nazi Germany during the days of Hitler and while standing there ‘visiting’ them say peace is what we want...while paying entrance to govt toursity areas( ie supporting the economy instead of boycotting and speaking out against the inhumane mistreatment of people from a racist/cruel government? I have been following you for years but I can’t support this false image and the painting of Aparthied to be acceptable and tolerable ,bc it’s not. Good luck with all your travels & wish you all the best. We all want peace but it can’t be one-sided...and paying for the growth of those who need to be in the ICC is not peace.

I can't believe that a beer in Eilat is $10 and $13 for a falafel pita. That's crazy. Tel Aviv is cheaper. Eilat is a beautiful and an amazing vibrant place starting in April (Passover Holiday) all the way to Mid October and if searched properly one can get great hotel deals. As for food, unless you want to sit smack in the middle of the beach front, you can find much better deals for beer and food. Next time try Aroma chain (amazing breakfast). Cheers.

Eilat known for the nice diving reef and also dolphins :) but its get crazy hot in july and august, around 40+ clz .. but no humidity at all so its bareble, and the water stay cool all year becuse its part of the ocean. If you have 3-4 days in israel so pass eilat.. but if you have more i think its cool place to relax, just be sure to come in the right season.

as a guys who lives here 30 years... the city has changed in the bad way... in the late 90's and early 00's eilat was at the peak of the peak... tiesto for example used to play here 2 3 times a year... we had like 2 3 trance/edm festivals a year.... 10k ppl.. for a city who has only around 60k... so imagine.. now each party is closed and goiin inside hotels.. onces in a year we have a big party... not as we used to had.... no BIG names coming (the scorpions has private show for gambling comany) and thats it... oh and its expensive as fuck.. weed cost u around 20$/gram beer can go from 3$ to 10$... its a nice video and i can recognize a few over there.. the bridge that u showed ppl use to jump over in the summer.. now the police have an officer there sitting :)
einat1622 (3 days ago)
Yes, enjoying a pint is expensive almost everywhere in Israel :-( Want a beer? get a bottle or a can at a convenience store\supermarket (the $3 option).

this video is a little superficial, you just walked across the town to the sea. next time show the night life, the bars, the clubs, dive in the sea and show us why it is unique and not just a normal sea.
Gabriel Traveler (5 months ago)
I agree actually. Basically I was too busy in Eilat editing my other videos and was short on time. I wanted to at least give a taste of it, so on my last day there I headed out late in the afternoon and just walked around before it got dark. The next day I had a bus to catch. So this was all I had time for, a quick walking tour of what it looks like.

10 dollar for s beer? Very expensive
einat1622 (3 days ago)
Beer in pubs are expensive at any Israeli metropolitan ($10- $15 for 500 ml from the tap) . Same prices in some Las Vegas bars... I end up buying a few cans of beer at a convenience store and bringing them into my room (using ice from the free ice machine). If you want to save - a bottle or a can cost about $3 in supermarkets.

Hey Gabe, you can swim in the Red Sea during January...as the water surface temp never really drops below 20C even during the winter. In fact, I have often been there at that time of year and done just that. Plus, Eilat can heat up very quickly...even in the winter months you can experience quick bursts of hot days up around 28C, even in the low 30C range sometimes. The ocean surface temp in Tel Aviv or Haifa is around 17-18C in January...and therefore a tad chilly. I do enjoy your vids a lot, keep em coming...the image quality is a lot better as of late. Just one comment here... You often say things like....it’s cool, cold, chilly, etc....like in your very recent Athens and Cyprus videos...how about always mentioning the actual daily high and night time low temps....to give the viewers a proper sense of just how cold, etc. As a lifelong travel & climate buff myself....I’m always interested in the actual temp readings, etc 😎

TEN DOLLARS for a single beer sounds off the charts expensive. I don't drink alcohol but for those that do, it seems - shall we say - problematic. If that is indicative of the prices in Eilat - especially in the so called 'off' of 'down' season for tourism, then I don't suppose that a visit to Eilat will make it into my bucket list.
einat1622 (3 days ago)
Unfortunately those are the prices at all cities. If you want a cheaper option get a can or a bottle in a conveniet store \ supermarket (it's the $3 option for 500 ml beer, including international brands)

Gabriel Traveler (7 months ago)
You mean snorkeling or diving? It was middle of winter so I wasn't really keen on going in the water. Next time when I go back, hopefully when it's warmer. I've seen some videos of the underwater scene and it looks spectacular.

Gabriel this might sound like a crazy comment, but I've noticed that sometimes you say something like - a interesting place or a expensive something. As far as I know it should be - an interesting place because 'interesting' starts with a vowel. So I was just wondering is it also OK to say it the way you do or is it considered a mistake? I'm not asking as criticism but really out of curiosity being a non native English speaker.
wownouser (7 months ago)
Thanks for your reply :)
Gabriel Traveler (7 months ago)
Technically yes it should be "an interesting place". But it's not a big deal either way. It's more important to get it right in writing. Probably sometimes I'm not sure which descriptive word I'm going to use yet and so I say "a" first and then drop in interesting. Who knows. No two people speak exactly the same, so there will always be some variations.

Just wondering, I'm trying to make a budget for a 3-4 week trio to israel. ..what kind of budget am I looking at? 2k?
Gabriel Traveler (7 months ago)
It depends on how you plan to travel, for example if you plan to stay in dorms then that would be enough, but if you wanted to get private rooms then it probably wouldn't be enough. Dorms are $25 and up, hotels will be $50 and up, and food at restaurants is quite expensive. Did you see my video showing the prices of things? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq3e8gZltSQ

ABSOLUTELY WORTH VISITING! Thank you for giving a perspective of how close Israel is to hostile borders. People have no idea how small it is and why it's so important to defend its borders. I lived in Israel for quite some time and have been back several times as a "tourist." Israel is a Jewish nation but also a democracy. There's no occupation; IDF retreated from the West Bank and Gaza many years ago. Anyway, go surfing, yes surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and enjoy the beach. It's actually way to hot in the summer so it's mostly tourists. The dead sea is a naturally occurring salt water body dating back thousands of years. It's called the dead sea because nothing lives in it. The people you see there on Shabbos are mostly tourists. Enjoy. It's an amazing place.

zivzan (1 month ago)
All Star Not true. According to international law, Judea and Samaria (aka the West Bank) is not an occupied territory, because previously it did not belong to a sovereign state. Moreover, in the 1922 San Remo conference the land was internationally recognized as part of the forthcoming Jewish state, a decision that holds validity to this day. Jordan was an illegal occupier of the land between 1948-1967, and Israel seized it from Jordan in a war of defense. Regardless, Jordan relinquished its claims for this land in 1988, which means Israel is the only country with a viable claim to this land.
All Star (2 months ago)
There is still occupation in the West Bank.. in fact, Israel is building settlements in these Palestinian territories which is illegal yet no one does anything about it.
Carol (4 months ago)
I also used to live in Israel and I loved it very much! Never a dull or boring moment! Went back in 2010 and ALL has changed (in a modernizing way). Would go every year if I could!
