They are found in the following locations in the chart properties dialog: Colors (all chart types except Pivot, Straight and Gauge) Visual Cues (Pivot and Straight tables only Dimensions (effective on Pivot and Straight tables only but available on all chart types) Expressions (all chart types except gauge) Colors Tab: • Global color control • Makes all elements within a dimension the same colour • Expressions executed on all the data selected to determine the colour. Visual Cues Tab: • Change text and background colours (and formatting) based on value returned in selection • Simple greater than / less than logic against an expression or fixed value • Straight tables and Pivot tables only Dimensions: • Use to change the colour and formatting on dimension members • Effective on only Pivot and Straight tables but can be set on any chart type Expressions: • Used on any chart type • Will change the colour of the data (i.e. the resulting number or the visualization). • The colour expression is executed for each result of the data set. • This is where to control different colours for different values in the same chart. 31 How to Create Pie and Donut Chart in QlikSense

03:14
In this #qliksense tutorial video I have talked about how you can create pie chart and donut chart qliksense. #QlikSenseTutorial The pie chart displays the relation between values as well as the relation of a single value to the total. You can use a pie chart when you have a single data series with only positive values. In the pie chart, the dimensions form sectors of the measure values. A pie chart can have one dimension and up to two measures. The first measure is used to determine the angle of each slice in the chart. Optionally, a second measure can be used to determine the radius of each pie slice. This style of pie chart is also known as a rose chart. In the pie presentation of the pie chart, negative values in the radius measure are not supported and will be excluded. Negative values in the radius measure are supported in the donut presentation and will point in towards the center of the pie chart. When to use it The primary use of a pie chart is to compare a certain sector to the total. The pie chart is particularly useful when there are only two sectors, for example yes/no or queued/finished. We do not recommend that you compare the results of two pie charts with each other. Advantages The pie chart provides an instant understanding of proportions when few sectors are used as dimensions. When you use 10 sectors, or less, the pie chart keeps its visual efficiency. Disadvantages It may be difficult to compare different sectors of a pie chart, especially a chart with many sectors. The pie chart takes up a lot of space in relation to the values it visualizes. Creating a pie chart You can create a pie chart on the sheet you are editing. Do the following: From the assets panel, drag an empty pie chart to the sheet. Click Add dimension and select a dimension or a field. Click Add measure and select a measure or create a measure from a field. The following settings are used by default in a pie chart: The top 10 sectors are presented in descending size order, clockwise. Colors are presented by dimension. Value labels are presented in percent. After you have created the pie chart, you may want to add a radius measure or adjust its appearance and other settings in the properties panel.

Use a Dropdown to Switch between Charts

17:06
Check out my Blog: http://exceltraining101.blogspot.com If you've got a table to show different views of a data series, you might want to show it one at a time. For example you may want to compare the sales, costs and profits of different items, but not all at the same time. Instead of creating three separate charts, you have a drop down for selection and it will show the respective view of your data. See the video to learn how to use a drop down combo box form control to switch between different charts in your worksheet. #exceltips #exceltipsandtricks #exceltutorial #doughexcel --------------------- Excel Training: https://www.exceltraining101.com/p/training.html Excel Books: https://www.amazon.com/shop/dough

35 How to Add Text or Images in QlikSense

02:58
In this #qliksense tutorial video I have talked about how to add text or images in qliksense. #QlikSenseTutorial The text & image visualization complements other visualizations by offering options to add text, images, hyperlinks, and measures. You can format and color the text and align the paragraphs. The background image has sizing and positioning options. You can also set the responsive behavior for text and images. When to use it The text & image visualization is intended for presentation purposes, and does not support selections. However, the measures in the text & image visualization are updated when selections are made. Some typical uses: Use it on the first sheet of an app for essential information. Display a company image, or use a background image together with formatted text and measure values to present figures in a compelling way. Link to sites with additional information. Use the responsive behavior to ensure that the visualization renders well on all devices. Advantages The text & image visualization contrasts with the other visualizations. You have many options for making the text & image visualization stand out next to more regular charts. Disadvantages You are limited to a few measure values and rather short texts, otherwise the text & image visualization will be cluttered. Creating a text & image You can create a text & image visualization on the sheet you are editing. Do the following: From the assets panel, drag an empty text & image chart to the sheet. Click the text & image chart to open the editing toolbar. Add and format text, images, hyperlinks or measures to the text & image chart. Tip: If you double-click a text & image chart in the assets panel, it is added to the sheet immediately. Editing a text & image In the text & image visualization you can add and format text, images, measures, and links in various ways. When you are editing a sheet and the text & image visualization does not have focus, you need to click twice to open the editing toolbar. In the editing toolbar, you can format text properties such as color, size, and style, and also align the text. Additionally, you have options for adding links and images. The editing toolbar with options to format text and add links and images. Creating a link You can mark a text section and use it for a link. If you do not add a prefix, http:// is added automatically, assuming that you are adding a web address. Do the following: Select the text section that you want to use for the link. Click é in the editing toolbar to open the link dialog. Enter the web address that you want to link to. Click é. The link is created. Removing a link You can remove a link from a text section. Do the following: Click the link so that the cursor is somewhere inside it. Click é in the editing toolbar to open the link dialog. Click Ö. The link is removed, but not the text. Adding an image You can add an image through the editing toolbar. You can use one of the default images, or an image of your own. Do the following: Click 0 in the editing toolbar. The Media library opens. The following formats are supported: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, and .gif. For Qlik Sense: You can upload images to the In app folder in the media library. You need to use the Qlik Management Console to upload images to the default folder. For Qlik Sense Desktop: You can place images in the following folder on your computer: C:\Users\user\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Content\Default. Images will be available in the default folder in the media library. When moving an app between installations, the images that you use in the app are saved in the qvf file together with the app. When you open the app in a new location, for example Qlik Sense Cloud, the images will be in the In app folder in the media library for the app. Click on a folder in the media library, for example In app or Default. Select the image that you want to add. Click Insert. In the properties panel, you can add a background image, which, for example, can be used when you want to insert text in the image. The images added through the editing toolbar are not background images. Adding a measure You can add a measure in the following ways: By dragging a field from the assets panel and adding it as a measure. By dragging a measure from Master items. By adding a measure (existing or new) from the properties panel. When you are editing the measure, it is displayed as a token, which can be styled and moved around in the visualization. You can also apply number formatting to it. When you leave the editor, the measure value is displayed . Values that cannot be aggregated are shown as a hyphen (-). Deleting a measure You can delete a measure in the following ways: Place the cursor before the token and press Delete. Place the cursor after the token and press Backspace. In the properties panel, long-touch/right-click the measure and select Delete in the dialog.

Qlik Sense API Based Mashups

10:02
I've demonstrated a lot of simple mashups in the past. This demonstration is more along the lines of what some would call "The Real Deal." Simple iframe? Nah that's so last demo. This time I utilize a great example built by our friends at Anne Arundel Medical Center that really shows off the potential. Take Qlik Sense analytics and present it for your "data consumers" using your custom style sheets, your look and feel, your page size, following your interface guidelines. Of course as the Qlik Dork I have to show you behind the scenes how it works.

Create your first Qlik Sense App - Qlik Sense for Beginners #1

05:06
Please watch: "QlikView for Beginners - FREE QlikView Training Course" → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdsIYH-DYJg -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- http://techstuffybooks.com - To learn more about Qlik Sense QlikView is a great product and you might be wondering why you should learn Qlik Sense. Here are a few reasons why I think it is worth spending your time learning Qlik Sense: •You like some of the features such as Storytelling that are in Qlik Sense but not in QlikView. •You find the responsive design of Qlik Sense that rearranges objects such as tables\charts depending on the size of the screen very useful. •You are an IT freelancer\contractor and want to stay ahead of the game and be prepared for any opportunities that come when companies need someone with Qlik Sense experience to help migrate their QlikView applications. •Although the line from Qlik is that is that they have a dual product strategy the emphasis is most definitely on the Qlik Sense product. •Qlik Sense is aimed more at a self-service style of business intelligence where users are encouraged to create their own charts \ tables where they do not already exist. Whereas QlikView which is described as ‘guided analytics’ generally involved more input from IT to make changes when used within a work environment.
